Making a Future for the Pike County Juvenile Detention Center Building

Making a Future for the Pike County Juvenile Detention Center Building
Saturday, October 27, 2018, 11AM – 3PM
Pike School of Art – Mississippi, 100 5th Ave., McComb, MS 39648

With artist Nik Nerburn, we’ll consider a future for Pike School of Art – Mississippi, which will inhabit the former Pike County Juvenile Detention Center. Using several large printed photographs of the building and surrounding areas, workshop participants will be given prompts for drawing and writing on the images themselves.

What would a perfect community art center look like? What are some dreams you have for this space? What would it look like to honor the history of this building and land? What services does the neighborhood need that Pike School of Art could provide?
